Always

There’s an incredible irony to always.

We promise always with the same guarantee as the sun will always rise and always set, like it’s a given. “I’ll always be there for you.” “I’ll always remember you.” “We’ll always be together.” “I’ll always love you.” Then, we turn into incredible hypocrites when always doesn’t happen. When we weren’t always there. When we stopped remembering. When we weren’t always together. When we didn’t always love them.

So, is it worse to be the one hypocritically promising always, or the one foolishly believing in always?
