We talk about healing like it’s a location on a map. A place that when we finally reach it, we can plant our flag and say “I’m done; I’m healed.”
But that’s not true.
Healing is reaching that spot, planting our flag, and then looking ahead and realizing we have a few more steps to go. Then, we march forward only to be forced twenty steps backwards.
Healing is losing sight of the end and stopping to ask for directions and being pointed down a far more treacherous path, but feeling stronger on the other side.
Healing is weathering every storm better than the last, and the courage to continue on after every storm, even when you see it coming.
Healing is finding a peaceful spot to set up camp while knowing that the journey is never over.
