The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

First, let me say that I am only on page 10 out of 1065. This book is THICK with many ‘c’s, as the kids say. *Update: my friend has called this “light summer reading”.

I have been surprised (so far) that for a book published in the 1800s, the language has been fairly easy to understand. Even just ten pages in, Edmond Dantes is being shown as a loveable hero, but Alexandre Dumas has been masterfully hinting at the trouble to come.

Hailed as a beloved piece of classic literature, I am excited to see where this tale leads.

When I finish the book (probably in a hundred years from now), I will write a review post, but so far so good.
